National Heritage Week 2026

24 June 2026

This year National Heritage Week takes place from August 15th – 23rd during August Craft Month.

This year’s theme, ‘Heritage At Risk,’ invites communities to shine a light on the traditions, skills, places, and practices that are vulnerable and need safeguarding.

With over 500,000 people engaging in Heritage Week events each year, makers are encouraged to share their craft with an audience that is curious and deeply connected to Ireland’s cultural heritage, by opening their studio, hosting workshops, or showcasing their work.
