To follow on from their new educational film, ‘Glisten’, which had its Irish premiere at the AGM in Collins Barracks National Museum of Decorative Art, Collins Barracks on Friday 2nd February, the Glass Society of Ireland plan to develop an educational pack which will be sent to schools along with the film – as a resource for teachers, educators and students.
For teachers to connect with artists local to their school, the pack will include a list of practitioners who can work with glass in the classroom, plus examples of commissions that glass makers have created in collaboration with students or young people. In addition GSoI will highlight funding schemes that teachers and art educators can apply for. The pack and educational film will also be available on the GSoI website.
GSoI members can contribute to the education pack by adding their name to the list for teachers and/or sending information on previous projects.
If you are interested in linking up with schools via the GSoI’s ‘Glass In The Classroom’ Project, please click on the link here and complete the form by Friday 1st March.
Please note that you must be a member of The Glass Society Of Ireland to be included in this pack.
