Rural Business Development Grant Scheme 2025/2026

DAERA has launched the Rural Business Development Grant Scheme 2025 / 2026 which will deliver capital grants of up to £7,500 to support rural micro businesses across Northern Ireland.
Eligible rural businesses can apply for capital assistance of 50% up to the value of £7,500 for the purchase of capital equipment which will help businesses to enhance sustainability and growth and, in many cases, create employment opportunities which in turn will strengthen the rural economy.
Your business must be located in a rural area (This excludes the city of Bangor and the towns of Comber, Donaghadee, Holywood and Newtownards) & have less than 10 full time equivalent employees.
Please note: Businesses who successfully applied to the scheme in previous years are still eligible to apply this year.
The scheme is open for applications between 9am on 25 September 2025 and 12noon on 30 October 2025.

Mandatory pre-application workshops will be taking place at:
10am on Wednesday 01 October 2025
1pm on Friday 03 October 2025
7pm on Monday 06 October 2025
These workshops will be held over Teams. Only those businesses who attend a mandatory workshop will be able to apply to the scheme.
