Symposium: Stories of Cotton

Taking place tomorrow, on Friday 2nd December, the Crafts Council will hold their Symposium: Stories of Cotton which aims to explore the narratives surrounding Cotton: labour, land and body with a host of makers and thinkers from the world of contemporary craft. This symposium takes place from 2pm to 6pm, and takes place both in person in London, and online!

Tickets are £10 to join online.

  • 3pm Khadi: Cotton, Colonialism and Resistance
  • 3.30pm Break
  • 4pm Working and Weaving
  • 5pm Cotton, Fashion and the Future

Speakers include artists Michael McMillan, Bharti Parmar, Hetain Patel and Brigid McLeer; curators Christine Checinska, Dominique Heyse-Moore, Rose Sinclair and Uthra Rajgopal; fashion designer Nicholas Daley and fashion lecturer Dal Chodha.
