Applications are open for the 12th edition of the Dorothy Waxman International Textile Design Prize. Founded by Li Edelkoort and Philip Fimmano, the prize celebrates emerging voices in textile and fashion design whose work demonstrates sustainable thinking, material innovation, and a visionary approach to textiles.
The competition is international and open to students currently enrolled in programs focused on textiles, fashion, interior, or lifestyle textiles. Graduates from 2025 and 2026 are also eligible to apply.
Part of the TALKING TEXTILES initiative, the finalists will present their work online before an international professional jury in September 2026, with selected projects featured across digital and social platforms throughout the month.
The winner will receive a $5,000 prize generously sponsored by Mohawk Group. Named in honor of Dorothy Waxman, the prize continues her legacy of championing avant-garde textile creativity and nurturing the future of design.
