Two New Short Courses from DCCI Academy

Two new jewellery short courses are now open for registration at the DCCI Academy, taking place at our Jewellery & Goldsmithing School in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. These programmes are ideal for makers, goldsmiths, and jewellery professionals looking to deepen their technical skills for the year ahead.
Gemmology Course, 10–11 January 2026
A two day introduction to gemstone identification and grading. Combining lectures with hands on sessions, participants will work with a full gemmological toolkit, microscope, refractometer, polariscope, spectroscope, and more while learning to assess diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and synthetics.

Ideal for: Beginners, designers, makers, and anyone wanting foundational gemstone knowledge
Micro Pavé & Castelle Setting, 30 March – 3 April 2026
A five-day intensive programme designed to build professional-level gemstone-setting skills. Participants will work with microscopes and GRS power-assisted gravers while learning graver sharpening, layout, drilling and burring. By the end of the course, students will work toward completing a pavé- or -set band, gaining confidence in high-precision stone setting.
