VAI Experiment Residency Award

Experiment is a VAI programme that aims to provide artists with funding to experiment. Funding of 5000 Euro will be granted for an artist to undertake research which is designed to bring their practice to a new level. This can be for:
- trying out new materials,
- undertaking training,
- investigating the impact of adopting a carbon neutral strategy as part of one’s practice,
- further learning in a specialist area,
- travel,
- or undertaking a feasibility study that contributes to the support of their practice.
The programme is open only to current VAI Members. Group applications must ensure that all members of the group applying are current members.
The successful awardee(s) will also have access to VAI’s office facilities (Dublin and Belfast) for the duration of their project.
To apply please provide:
- 1 X Proposal which clearly states the purpose of the research, the impact that the work will have on the individual/group practice, and a timeline (3000 character limit – equates to approximately one A4 page);
- 1 X Professional Resume for the applicant(s);
- Supporting documentation regarding the area of research and/or individuals/institutions that will be engaged with;
- Examples of work.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, 10th November 2023.
