Visual Artists Ireland have released a number of upcoming webinars taking place over zoom as part of their lifelong learning programme, focusing on;
Wednesday 22nd June, 11am – Starting and Re-starting your career
Have you recently embarked on a career or thinking of returning to your practice after an absence? Being aware of and equipped for the business of being an artist today will definitely alleviate some of pressures that you will face when either growing or bringing your practice back to life.
This webinar will address entering the art world and will also focus on those artists who may have lapsed practices and wish to re-establish themselves, their studio practice and begin producing work again. Topics included in this webinar; professional development, re-establishing a creative space/studio, creating your artist network and exploring the landscape of opportunities available to you.
Led by Catherine Hemelryk, curator and director of CCA Derry-Londonderry and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts as well as External Examiner at Birmingham School of Art.
Tuesday 28th June, 11am – An Artist’s Guide to Funding and Applications
Grants, bursaries, residencies, per cent for art commissions, project proposals – this webinar led by Marianne O’Kane Boal will consist of one 45 minute presentation that will take a closer look at all things ‘Funding and applications’. The 45 minute presentation will be followed by a 15minute general Q&A discussion open to all attendees.
