Win a Free Week in University of Atypical’s Ledger Studio

Deadline: May 10, 2024Artists and groups are invited to apply to win one week (5 working days) free access to the Ledger Studio, at the University of Atypical, Belfast as well as access to its resources on site.
- Are you an artist or creative group or voluntary organisation?
- Could you use an accessible space for a full week free of charge?
- Do you need a workspace to explore your creativity and or your artistic practice?
- Applications that are from d/Deaf, disabled, or neurodiverse (DDN) community or other disadvantaged groups are eligible to apply.
The competition aims to give a unique experience to set up their work or training or performance activity in the Ledger Studio.
You will have support from the Ledger Studio Coordinator to assist you during the week.
You will have access to tea and coffee and refrigerator facilities.

Location: Ground floor of 109-113 Royal Avenue, Belfast BT1 1FF
Accessible Features: The venue is on street-level, conveniently located in Belfast city centre on major bus routes.
- Step-free entry and access throughout the venue
- Accessible toilet and separate non-disabled toilet
- Accessible toilet with hoist and changing plinth in the Atypical Gallery
- Audio description equipment
- Braille printing
- BSL/ISL interpretation (at an additional cost)
- Assistance dogs welcome

Eligibility
You or your group must:
- Be over the age of 18.
- You must be resident in Northern Ireland
- Identify as a member of the d/Deaf, disabled, or neurodiverse community or are a disadvantaged group.
- Have an idea to use the space for one week (Monday-Friday) between 9 am and 9 pm from June 2024-March 2025.

- Tell the Univeristy of Atypical about your idea and how you believe this opportunity will benefit you.
- If you have previous experience in arts or disabled or other community activity, tell us about it.
- Why do you need the space?
- Who will be involved in the use of the space? If it is a particular group, give the group name. If it is an open audience tell us who you think will come.
- When can your idea happen? The more flexible you are the better! Give dates.
- What access and facilities would be important for you to make your idea work really well?
