ABLE 30th Anniversary Exhibition of Bobbin Lace

29 March 2022 @ 10:00 am - 10 April 2022 @ 4:30 pm

Free

Ards Bobbin Lace Enthusiasts (ABLE) was formed in 1991 by Unagh McCullough, the current WI Homecraft assessor, to promote bobbin lacemaking, which is a heritage craft both in Ireland and worldwide.

ABLE has staged every quinquennial exhibition of their handmade lace items, from all skill levels, at the North Down Museum in Bangor.

Now celebrating its 30th Anniversary, members worked on individual Torchon lace squares, designed by Unagh, to create a handmade tablecloth which will be raffled during the exhibition – all monies raised going to a local cancer research charity.

Exhibition admission is free.

Open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm

Sunday 12 noon-4pm
