Join tutor Ronan Lee-Smyth for this one-day workshop where you will get the opportunity to explore wool rug making using a traditional latch hooking method.
Exploring aspects of yarn length, knotting, fringing, finishing cuts and edge binding, this workshop will guide participants of all capabilities and interests through the entire chain of production, from initial planning to finished object; exploring materials, tools and techniques as you proceed.
Throughout the workshop, participants will have access to artist references and contextual resources that will assist the creative development of each independent project.
Aiming to be as fun as possible, together we will explore the expanded potential of textile production; identifying the transformative language of rug making by highlighting various methods of display that allow each outcome to be as personal and creative as possible.
