Come along for Late Night Art on Thursday, April 6 between 6 and 8pm and learn about Serti silk painting!
Karen O’Kane, the creative force behind Kokodesigns, is a textile artist based in the picturesque Donegal village of Ramelton who specialises in hand painted silk which she uses to make colourful pieces for the home – especially lighting and lampshades.
Karen will be in the gallery to demonstrate Serti silk painting and talk about the processes used in ‘Love my Lake’, her latest collection which was inspired by her pond. Karen takes key motifs and makes them into an Art Deco stained glass inspired design, which she then takes into production by digitally printing onto bamboo.
Don’t miss Karen’s talk at 7pm as she will talk us through the process and demonstrate from design, painting on the silk to printing, to making the lights.
The audience will have the opportunity to try their hand at silk painting using a silk canvas set up that Karen will bring along for the night!
Everyone is welcome, no booking necessary.
