Patterson’s Spade Mill Interactive Tour

Experience 250 years of spade making history at the last water powered spade mill, still in daily operation, in the UK. Engage your senses as you feel the heat of the forge, see the flames and hear the ring of hammers on steel.

On this 60 minute immersive experience, get transported back in time. Tour the mill and try out the ancient craft of blacksmithing for yourself.

You will learn some of the history of this important piece of industrial heritage. Ever hear the phrase “knocking off time”? Find out its origin and much more, and feel the satisfaction of taking home a piece of work forged by your own hands.
