During this 3 week workshop participants will use their own collected driftwood to make a beautiful Macramé Wall Hanging.
In Week 1 (5th August) you will earn how to tie a larks head knot, a clove hitch and a square knot and create the start of the natural portion of the hanging. Participants will them take their work home and complete the section before returning to class the following week.
In Week 2 (12th August) participants will add the spiral knot element (pink in the image), and you will learn how to add and finish the fringes
In Week 3 (19th August) you will complete the centre panel (beige in the image), using clove hitches and square knots.
The example shown uses a piece of driftwood approximately 90cm long, and the hanging itself measures 60cm x 90cm
Previous experience isn’t required for this class, but participants will need to be available for all 3 classes, and to have time to complete some work at home before the 2nd and 3rd sessions.
A range of colours of cords will be available, so you can create a wall hanging to suit your home. If you don’t have access to a piece of collected driftwood one can be supplied for you.
Please note, the workshop will take place on Friday evenings in Boom Studios, Bangor.
