The Belfast Paper Art Society’s exhibition ‘Paper Magic’ opens at Millennium Court on Saturday, September 14th, 2 – 4pm. This exciting event will showcase the vibrant and diverse world of paper art, featuring an array of Papier Mache sculptures, intricate collages, and large-scale mixed media pieces, that are sure to captivate visitors of all ages!
The exhibition celebrates the versatility and creativity of paper as a medium. In a special tribute to Portadown’s own pioneering artist, Ann Acheson, each exhibiting artist has created new pieces inspired by her groundbreaking work. Ann Acheson is renowned for her contribution to medical history during World War I, where she helped develop the Papier Mache ‘Acheson Splint,’ a precursor to the modern plaster cast that improved the healing of broken limbs.
In addition to the main exhibition, Millennium Court is delighted to host a series of kids’ paper craft workshops to celebrate the opening of ‘Paper Magic’.
